Interview with Katy Scott, Senior Director of Facilities and Site Services for Roche Molecular Solutions in the South Bay with oversight for diagnostics facilities in Santa Clara and San Jose. She has nineteen years of experience in facilities management, engineering, and compliance in biologics and chemicals manufacturing. Ms. Scott also has a Professional Engineer’s license in Chemical Engineering and is a Board Member for the Silicon Valley chapter of IFMA. 

When was the company founded?

What products or services does the company provide?

With a workforce of over 90,000 in over 100 countries, Roche is proud to be an innovator company, investing over $9 billion each year in research and development. Roche’s Santa Clara facility focuses on diagnostics research, development, and manufacturing. 

How is the company involved in the community?

Roche is consistently active in the Santa Clara community. They have sponsored and volunteered at the SCUSD STEM EXPO. In 2019, they had over thirty volunteers work with Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley at Next Door Solutions. Roche also developed STEM training for SCUSD teachers for use in the 2020 school year and collects donated goods for Uplift Family Services’ back to school drives and holiday giving. Recently, employees volunteered to make wigs for the Magic Yarn Project.
